Just A Little Bit

Hello Friends and Fans!

Well another week older and not much to show for it, how about you? My home is still a wreck from the termite treatment and waiting around for people to help out is evidently a waste of time! :)  I will take care of it all eventually and of course no one is going to come by and rob me of the work!

Minnie is still doing fine. My great grandsons are doing well too. My little Gavin won his Power Wheels race last night! At three years old (just barely) he is amazingly focused and purposeful and one of the sweetest little boys you would ever want to meet. I am looking forward to seeing what an awesome young man he will be.

My other little one, Jase, is growing up out west but we do get photos of him almost daily thanks to camera phones and email.

My friends Chris and Richard are back from their vacation to the Isle of Wight and sent me some beautiful photos too.

I uploaded a template this week and have been working on a set of layout templates.

I have a little mini kit for you this week; just click on the link below the preview to download.

Come back soon and remember . . . have your pets spayed or neutered.

Sunday Blog Gift

Hello friends and fans. I haven't been able to design this week because of having to deal with termite treatment of the house. Grrrr . . .  Hate that all that money has to go to something that never should have happened in the first place. I did put together a gift for you though and hope you can put it to good use.  Just click the link under the preview for the download.

Thanks for coming by!

Hugs,

The Rainbow Bridge

My family has been blessed with so many wonderful feline and canine friends over the years; we are a very lucky group to be able to afford to always have our animal companions. Sadly, we must say goodbye to them all too soon as these wonderful little angels of love do not have the lifespans of us humans. I remember each and every one of my fur companions from the time I was born until today and I have to say they did much more for me than I ever was able to do for them.  I have been particularly fearful of The Rainbow Bridge lately, because of my Minnie. If you know me at all you know I love my Minnie and that she has not been in the best of health the last few months; I believe we have that licked now and she is doing fine! We sometimes forget that these little souls can go in the blink of an eye and that is what happened this week with my grandkitty, BB.  BB was the brother of my kitty, Peaches, and resided in Concord, North Carolina with my daughter Kimberli; BB has been my daughter's constant companion for fourteen years. BB became listless and in just a few days had to be helped along to The Rainbow Bridge because of kidney failure.  Kidney failure is the scourge of the feline community in America, mostly because we were led to believe that a kibble diet was really good for them, it is not. (please read about this: http://www.catinfo.org/)   I just found this out a few months ago and began the slow process of switching my Peaches from kibble to canned food and I pray that I have not damaged her little body with what I thought was good for her. I have also stopped feeding my Minnie any kibble that contains grains as I believe she is allergic to them and that is what caused all of her stomach problems! Minnie now gets only meals prepared by me (chicken, beef, whole egg, coconut oil, vitamins, enzymes, and probiotics) with a small amount of veggie/meat kibble as a snack.  It really isn't any trouble to make your pet's food instead of buying manufactured kibble.

My heart is hurting for my daughter's and grandson's loss of their faithful friend and we will all miss him and remember him always. I made this little video of him for my girl and hope it makes her smile.

Sunday Gift Time!

Hello friends,

Another sweltering week for us in the deep south of the US; temperatures in the 90's (32C).  Minnie and I have been staying inside most of the week because of the heat but also because I still cannot be in the sun with these infected sinuses. I haven't designed a thing all month, haven't posted on Facebook, or answered any email; it has been the pits but if it is all I ever have to put up with then I am doing pretty doggone good, comparatively speaking :)

I have a tag cluster for you today. Don't have a clue what I will do for the newsletter tomorrow. Hope you have a good week!

Sunday, June 15, 2014, Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! all you wonderful family men! I no longer have a father or grandfathers here on earth but I still love and think about the ones in heaven! Hope this day is awesome for all the great fathers in the world.

Been celebrating the fact that my Minnie has not had a sick day since June 3rd!!!!! I am so happy that she is finally well and enjoying her life. She really is enjoying it too! Since rescuing me, Minnie has come to learn that she can get and do just about anything her little heart desires: I have created a Minnie Monster! She flat out refuses to take a walk unless she has on her favorite collar and leash, no longer lets me sleep until 8:30 but is up at dawn, raises Cain if I don't pick her up when she demands it, and runs and hides when it is bath time. She is ruling this household for sure! I love her to pieces!

I neglected to tell you about some of the items I have put in the shops lately; don't know where my head was when I wrote my blog posts the last few weeks! Here are some I didn't mention and you can see a larger version by clicking on the Latest Kit Previews tab above.

These items are available at Digital Designer Resources and Raining Digitals except for the June Love Hearts which are in my personal use stores.

Today's gift is a little summer word art and paper. Tomorrow's gift is a summer quick page.  Just click on the link below the preview to download.

This is the newsletter gift.

Sunday June 8, 2014

Hello Friends and Fans,

Well another sweltering summer week has passed here in the deep south of the U.S. I'm grateful to have had this past week.  Minnie only had one bad day since last Monday!  So, as dear departed Dr. Maya Angelou said, 'there's a rainbow in the clouds!' Did you get to experience Dr. Angelou's memorial service? It really gave me a lot to think about: How I whine and complain about the smallest things that really have no meaning in this world or this time.  All that is really important are our relationships: with our families, extended family, friends, neighbors, state, country, and all the citizens of the world, that is what will count when we are gone, the good we left behind in the hearts of mankind.

I managed to make some papers for the Digi Style Designs June CAK (Create A Kit) Father's Day. I love plaids and my Chris made it enjoyable to create them by teaching me her secrets! Thanks Chris Allport!

Speaking of Chris, I cannot let the day go by without wishing Richard Allport a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, with many happy returns! Super guy, deserves a super birthday!

I am trying out something different this week: grunged decoupage. Basically what it means is I took a chipboard frame, roughed it up, splashed some ink notes on it, pasted a few scraps of paper, and also peeled off a magazine scrap that had stuck to it. A few rips, holes, and dirt later we have a grunged, decoupaged frame :)  It is this Sundays freebie and I hope you like it! Just click on the link under the preview to download.

Before I say goodbye, I want to give you a link to an awesome blogger, Vicki Chrisman! She touches my heart on a regular basis and I think you would enjoy this latest post of hers:

Hello friends and fans! What an Internet flip-flop week I have had. On the days when I was without power because of the storms, I could deal with not having the Internet. On the days when I had power, I was going crazy trying to make contact with the outside world because my browsers stopped working with my PC! Yes! Browsers, plural. Couldn't get Firefox, my default, up then went to Internet Explorer to download newer versions of Chrome and Firefox but IE wasn't working correctly. Finally was able to get Chrome and used it to fix Firefox. I felt like I was going in circles down a drain! All seems to be okay for now, just keeping my fingers crossed that the fixes will hold.

Minnie did pretty good this week, only 1 and a half days down with her stomach. My daughter's friend had to have her Lhasa Apso euthanized for the same symptoms Minnie has, that turned out to be pancreatitis.  I have just been wondering why they couldn't treat it as we humans get this disease all the time and it is treatable; but I do know it can be so severe that quality of life is terrible. I am thinking Minnie might hold her water and bowels, then not eat or drink when she is experiencing pain. I am also thinking that my actions might be the reason she has been so sick. I have been giving her probiotics and didn't think I should give her the same dosage as a 50 pound dog, so I halved the amount.  Perhaps it gave her stomach cramps and she just reacts differently than any other dog or human might? I tried out my theory by not giving her any enzymes or probiotics and she was fine but the day after I added the probiotics back into her diet she went into another spell. I am taking her off them for the next few days then trying again with a larger dose and praying that it will fix this seesaw illness she has been having.

I didn't design anything new this week so there is nothing to share with you, I haven't been well but I'll get over it soon.

Okay, now that I have bored you to tears with my life, I will get on to the good stuff. It's the first of the month and then means with today's gift and tomorrow's newsletter gift you will be receiving the next installment of my 2014 calendar. Today you get September and tomorrow you get October's calendar. Just click on the link below the preview to get your copy.

This is the newsletter gift for tomorrow:

Thanks for coming by! See you next week.

May 25 Blog Gift

Hello everyone. Hope you have had a nice week and are in the midst of a wonderful fun filled weekend. Minnie had four good days this week and I am so pleased. It is hard to see this little one suffer so much. My daughter told me that a friend of hers has a small dog and it has the same symptoms as Minnie and the vet doesn't know what is wrong with her baby either. I am watching Minnie like a hawk, and if anything gives me any more indication of what is wrong you can bet I will be camped out on the doctor's doorstep for treatment!

I made you some washi tapes from the Mother's Day Papers at DSD's Create A Kit category this month. I like how they turned out as I made some areas with a little transparency as real washi tapes sometimes are made.  I hope you like these and be sure and check Monday's newsletter because I am giving away some more coordinating tapes.  To get your tapes just click the download link under the preview.

I hope to post a bit during the coming week :) Thanks for coming by.

Love Your Pet? Read This!

I am sending out this link in the hopes that fewer canine, feline, and ferret companions succumb to death from unnecessary, too soon, or too large a dose of vaccines!  Please read this doctor's article, he gains nothing from your heeding his warnings. Ron Hines DVM PhD  I am currently researching canine health facts in order to make an informed decision about the health practices I use for my little Chihuahua, Minnie, and felt I should share this with you.
Hugs,
Liv
